Trumpeter swans find their mate in spring. They mate from four to seven years of age. Trumpeter swans are monogamous (one mate for life).
If one of them dies they still don't mate again.
Nesting process
In spring they migrate to Canada then they find a place to lay thier eggs and protect it from the other swans and predetors.Trumpeter swans use the same nesting sight every year.
Eggs
The mother swan lays 2-10 eggs. The pen (female swan) lays one egg at a time. Once all the eggs are laid, she incubates the eggs for 5 weeks. Three to four months after hatching the cygnets grow their flight feathers so they are able to fly. The cygnets stay with their parents until the next mating season.
Floating cygnet (baby swan).
